The north coast of Cornwall and the area around Trebarwith Strand/Tintagel/Port Isaac in particular, is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with wild, steep cliffs and tiny coves; and is far less developed or known by visitors than the Padstow/Rock area further west.

The coastal walks in either direction are as beautiful and unspoilt as any in the country and there are many private and National Trust gardens within striking distance to visit.

Tintagel is a two-hour walk or a short drive away, with all the drama and history of the ancient seat of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

Port Isaac, at twenty minutes’ drive away, is a historic Cornish fishing port with tiny narrow lanes and whitewashed houses.  Park on the beach and buy crabs or lobsters as they are unloaded by the fishermen.

Polzeath and Rock are half an hour away – with Polzeath having one of the best and safest surfing beaches in Cornwall.  There are acres of fine sand for children of all ages to enjoy.
